Sea boating, wildlife observation & hot springs,
Patagonia Chile
Sea
boating to Cahuelmó hot springs in Pumalín Natural Park
Season: October to April
Difficulty / level of fitness: low
Duration: 6 hours
Description:
Village
of Poyo (17.7km. away from the Lodge) is the starting point for the
sea boat trip, of about 3 hours, which take us to the natural hot
springs at Cahuelmó in Pumalín Park.
At this small village we will board a local sea boat, which cruises by
the coast of the peninsula. After a short trip we enter the Leptepu or
Comau fjord, where the Andes mountains rise abruptly from the sea,
almost without leaving any space for beaches.
The route allows us, at certain points, to almost touch the forest, while
we can observe marine wildlife such as dolphins, seals and sea elephants
among a wide variety of marine birds. This scenery accompany us throughout
the whole cruise.
Then we get to the majestic entrance of the Cahuelmó channel. At the end
of the channel are located the natural hot springs where we have the chance
to take a relaxing thermal bath at the natural ponds while we enjoy
sightseeing. We have lunch there, in the afternoon we return to the
lodge.
