Ciprés de las Guaitecas: Pilgerodendrum uviferum,
Ciprés de las Guaitecas. Pilgerodendron uviferum, known as Ciprés de las Guaytecas, has leaves dispose like scales in rows of two and in an alternate opposite disposition in hirsute twigs. Leaves with out white stripes on the back of the leaf.
The trees are generally small, but under optimal conditions they can reach 30- 40 m of height and 1 m of diameter in the trunk.
The bark is similar to that of Alerce, but no reddish. It forms pure and mixed forest in very wet and marshy places.
